  • illegalpics
Matt Ramey (@illegalpics) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

Duke Energy really tried to raise my BBP amount from 117 to 152! It went DOWN last year and we did not use more energy (in fact we installed new insulation). @DukeEnergy protected monopoly rate hikes are a scam @NCDEQ @NC_Governor why are y’all allowing them to do this

@DukeEnergy so your customer service do not have supervisors. I was just told that they don’t have supervisors a no one above them.

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@wes_wade @jlester1976 @DukeEnergy So sorry we couldn't provide more notice. We found storm damage on our power line that required an immediate repair today. We did our best to send calls to affected customers and get the word out through media. Sorry to mess up a fellow Wolfpacker's dinner. Lights on soon!

@DukeEnergy Super not happy w/ u all! 1 of ur bums came by & cut off my power over 4 hrs ago when we were 1 of the few still w/ it & then just disappeared!!! He could’ve waited till they started working on it which they still haven’t 4hrs later! That’s some F***ing Sorry ass BS!

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@idk65677711 @DukeEnergy It's likely there were some other repairs that had to be completed in order to restore service. I know that there were both main lines and individual service lines that had to be repaired. A lot of damage in that area. Estimated time of restoration is listed as 10:00 p.m.

  • dberwyn
Dennis Berwyn (@dberwyn) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@DukeEnergy Okies, you can turn my A/C back on thank you. #Energywise ends at 8! 81°F in here... 🙏 I'm paying customer. #Hurry

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@Pzzy26 @talleyevans @DukeEnergy We have made great progress so far today and cut the number of outages in half since midnight. We still have about a thousand damage locations that have to be repaired so there's a lot of work ahead, but we've made some good initial progress.

  • bridgetchapman_

ADVICE FOR @DukeEnergy CUSTOMERS: —prepare for outages —report outages if you see them —if you see a downed power line, stay away from it #HurricaneDorian

  • JCameronJoyce

“We don’t care” @DukeEnergy on public health, environmental damages, & customer experience

  • HeatherBuckeye
Heather Marie (@HeatherBuckeye) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@KoughTheSicknes @DukeEnergy It would be fine if it wasn’t so frequently and if they would maybe give us a heads up that we were not going to have power so we could plan our lives accordingly. It also really sucks having to get ready for work with no power or having to take showers in the dark.

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Knightdale, North Carolina

@mykeg1974 @DukeEnergy We trim to specified widths allowed on our rights of way, and remove dead/dying trees beyond our easement. Locations I've seen today often involve healthy trees much taller than that blown onto lines from distance. Hurricane-level damage. We've got thousands working to restore.

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@2001grad312 @DukeEnergy If you are referring to the outage in Yadkin currently affecting 1,094 customers, it was caused by vegetation that fell on the power line and is estimated to be restored by midnight or sooner. We had some pretty nasty thunderstorms roll through the region today unfortunately.

  • elise81
elise (@elise81) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

I need to be called about this matter @DukeEnergy you are not to turn off our power without scheduling it.

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@davidmohrmann3 @FortuneMagazine @DukeEnergy We have actually proposed eliminating individual card fees for Duke Energy Carolinas NC customers (looks like you are Charlotte-based so would be your service area) as part of a request we recently made with regulators. Hopefully we can deliver this benefit soon!

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@Bunnz_N_Gunzz @DukeEnergy If I find out that there's any other reason why the estimates are not present on your outage I will pass along. I know we are doing our best to get everyone restored as quickly as possible

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@angie_lou1 @DukeEnergy We are all over Raleigh today. I'm up off of Ray road right now with a crew getting ready to restore power. Not sure specifically about your outage but I know there are crews working around that area.

  • PaulSector2814

Power out all around me due to "fallen tree limbs". Power winking on/off here per usual. @DukeEnergy has refused our tree trimming requests. Their guy said they don't care about power quality or safety & don't do preventative maintenance. @floridapsc

@FLVoiceNews @FloridaTaxWatch @DukeEnergy Tax watch is bought and paid for by industry. I don’t know if this is a good or bad idea but I know tax watch will side with duke regardless

  • iamthejosh
    Josh Buonocore (@iamthejosh) reported

@DukeEnergy you should change your name to ****** Energy so it better reflects your brand. If I sneeze my power could go out. Getting ridiculously ridiculous here in Florida.

  • DessyAlexanderr
    destiny alexander (@DessyAlexanderr) reported

@DukeEnergy HAS BEEN A SCAM FOR YEARS!!!! They literally spike their charges out of nowhere, and overcharge. I’m so glad we’re petitioning them. They’re stealing our money.

  • Trekkie0805
    Craig Reynolds (@Trekkie0805) reported

@DukeEnergy @WeatherBrittany Duke Energy: charge devices, prepare for outages, stay safe. @LukeFarleyNC: another photo op and press release. One is public service. The other is PR.

  • johnrhanger
John Raymond Hanger  (@johnrhanger) reported

@fredstaffordcs @JigarShahDC @DukeEnergy With a monopoly, and rate-base rate of return regulation, affordability for ratepayers is literally bad business. More capital spent the higher profits. Duke does what most for-profit monopoly utilities do. Many of these utilities also make sure their regulators are friendly.
