@davidmohrmann3 @FortuneMagazine @DukeEnergy We have actually proposed eliminating individual card fees for Duke Energy Carolinas NC customers (looks like you are Charlotte-based so would be your service area) as part of a request we recently made with regulators. Hopefully we can deliver this benefit soon!

@DukeEnergy if someone calls one of your customer service numbers and the department is closed, does the caller sit on hold forever or a message plays saying the department is closed? Asking for a friend...

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@Bunnz_N_Gunzz @DukeEnergy If I find out that there's any other reason why the estimates are not present on your outage I will pass along. I know we are doing our best to get everyone restored as quickly as possible

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@2001grad312 @DukeEnergy If you are referring to the outage in Yadkin currently affecting 1,094 customers, it was caused by vegetation that fell on the power line and is estimated to be restored by midnight or sooner. We had some pretty nasty thunderstorms roll through the region today unfortunately.

@rhettysetgo I have several limbs hanging over pwr lines, a few are dying. Had three tree services out that won’t touch them due to proximity. Each told me to call @DukeEnergy . They came out, said it was my responsibility. #stuck Guess they’d rather fix it after a storm than prevent.

  • Raleighwood007

@wes_wade @jlester1976 @DukeEnergy So sorry we couldn't provide more notice. We found storm damage on our power line that required an immediate repair today. We did our best to send calls to affected customers and get the word out through media. Sorry to mess up a fellow Wolfpacker's dinner. Lights on soon!

@DukeEnergy Will do! This is at least the 4th time this has happened in the last month and every time it happens we aren’t informed ahead of time and workers can’t give us an ETA of when power is going to be restored. @KoughTheSicknes

Questions today about our estimated times of restoration on @DukeEnergy outage map. Those indicate the latest time/date we expect the vast majority of customers in each county back on. Some could be faster. If we anticipate not meeting that time, you will hear from us.

  • DE_JeffB
Jeff Brooks (@DE_JeffB) reported from Raleigh, North Carolina

@idk65677711 @DukeEnergy It's likely there were some other repairs that had to be completed in order to restore service. I know that there were both main lines and individual service lines that had to be repaired. A lot of damage in that area. Estimated time of restoration is listed as 10:00 p.m.

Is this inflationary pressure, or the direct effect of conflict? I don’t have a big house (2700sq ft) and my bill has been within $115-135 a month for Gas and Power (Electricity) and look at this month. Gas is used for heating & hot water heater. My home always stays at 65 degrees Fahrenheit in day & 62 at night. @DukeEnergy @PiedmontNG what’s the reason of this hike?

  • GoldenNutz83

@ForwardCarolina @DukeEnergy Don’t forget, as cold as it is right now, the air conditioning in the data centers is running to keep the servers and switches cool, while the excess heat is pumped out into the atmosphere. They can’t just leave the windows open!
