E.g. a call center in the US can sign up for services from a company in the Philippines that buys the minutes from a carrier in Italy that pays Verizon.

They then try to get me to hand over account details so they can login and order phones from my account.

Dovid Bender (@Dovid) reported from Lakewood, New Jersey@tmissner @DaveMichels It's going to hurt the big lecs like Verizon Wireless that charge for every minute that a call is on their network. For instance there is almost no reason a call should come into their edge with their call centers CLI.

Anything with a line of service looks better for their metrics, but if they absolutely have to, they'll sell you whatever they can, like headphones. Just depends which one you go to, i guess.
