My power went out 30 minutes ago from a tree falling on a power line & it’s now back up. I really appreciate the crews at @DominionEnergy Virginia who are out there in absolutely POURING sleet working, and quickly - because they probably want to get out of the sleet.

@NoVA_Campaigns @DominionEnergy They will never make 11 billion dollars of electricity. It would take 8 Nat gas power plants running full cap 24-7 to make 11 billion worth of electricity in 1 year. Now consider how long those have to run to break even. The wind isnt always blowing at full cap.

For example, projects would need electricity prices of $130+/MWh to break even at a 7% internal rate of return (IRR), but actual market prices are lower, leading to bankruptcy risk without support. Offshore wind remains the costliest renewable, 2–3 times more expensive than onshore wind or solar.
