In real terms it produces about 1.1 gigawatts on average and still requires full gas or coal backup when the wind is not blowing or turbines are shut down due to weather or icing. For roughly the same money one modern nuclear plant delivers 1.6 to 2.0 gigawatts nearly 24/7 at over 90% capacity and runs for 60 to 80 years. No weather dependency, no foreign monopolies, no backup generation, and no transmission gymnastics. Over its lifetime a single nuclear plant produces multiple times more electricity than CVOW at lower total cost to ratepayers. Offshore wind is expensive nameplate power. Nuclear is cheap real power.
