Mounir 🪬 (@MounirLynch) reported from Columbus, Ohio@AEPOhio you’re gonna start notifying people when you cut off their power first, right? I know you’re not obligated to provide customer service since you monopolize the entire area, but there’s gotta be some lessons learned here?
-
Jen House (@jenhouse) reported from Columbus, OhioStop calling what @AEPOhio is doing “rolling blackouts.” That’s not what this is. To be a rolling blackout it has to actually move around. They just shut off power to a huge portion of the poorest areas of the city for what sounds like will be DAYS unannounced.
-
Yats - Grandview (@YATSGRANDVIEW) reported from Columbus, Ohio***Update*** honestly not sure we ever lost power 🤦 @aepohio but we are in the process of getting ready to open by 4pm.

-
James Johnson (@giganano9) reported from Columbus, OhioIf you have a monopoly on a city’s power grid, and you can’t sustain the entire city drawing AC when it’s >90F outside, then you’ve failed at your job. @MayorGinther should be treating @AEPOhio’s decision to intentionally black out even a single house in Columbus as exactly that

🕶 Rickdiculous 🐝🍷 (@rickdiculous23) reported from Columbus, Ohio@AEPOhio I moved to my new house less than 3 weeks ago and this is the 3rd power outage we’ve experienced. What is going on in east Columbus that keeps making this happen?

USTrademarkLaw (@JoeDreitler) reported from Upper Arlington, Ohio@AEPOhio You turned off power Tues 2pm. Back 6 am & now off again. Intentional, really? Incompetent. I’m I’m Nowhere near storm. How long? I’m 71. Don’t have “other accommodations” @GovMikeDeWine
-
Dustin Pappalardo (@dustnpappalardo) reported from Lincoln Village, OhioI’m not buying the “storms” are responsible for the intentional power outage from @aepohio and shame on @andrewginther for supporting them. We barely had any rain yesterday. I’ll be called a conspiracy theorist now but proven right in six months about this.
-

Patriot PAC (@PACPatriot) reported@AEPOhio @GovMikeDeWine Thousands of central Ohioans are out of power going on 24 hours now because it’s cheaper for AEP to pay crews overtime for a short period over a few days than it is to proactively maintain their network while charging customers millions.

True American 🇺🇸 Ohio (@TrueAmericanOH) reported@AEPOhio You miss the point. We are being blindsided with this approach when we should have been informed ahead of time that when we tried to log in the next time, we would need to change our password. What AEP did: 1. AEP keeps silent 2. AEP sends out the standard Your bill is available notices. 3. Users try to log in to get their bills only to be told they must reset their passwords. What AEP should have done: 1. AEP send out emails stating that changes were made to the web site and that these changes require users to reset their passwords. 2. Offer users the option to go immediately and reset their passwords or wait until they receive their bill is available notice and do it then. Do you see the difference? The latter informs us of what is going on whereas the former does not inform us and can be seen as treating us as children.

Kraig Hallam (@khallam) reported@AEPOhio We have faced drastic price increases over the last decade all supposedly to update the infrastructure, but every weather event we suffer "the worst" outages. And yet AEP continues raking in record profits. Almost like it's a lie and they are just price gouging
