Scott McLeod (@ScottMcLeod_NM) reported from Albuquerque, New Mexico@kidgolferman @indacopa @johnlegend The USPS does its job and on time. If the clerks drop off late THAT is not on the USPS. The problem will be with the clerks and the counting. The ballots will be there but the counting and THE screwups there will be the problem. FACT

Scott McLeod (@ScottMcLeod_NM) reported from Albuquerque, New MexicoPeople are questioning the USPS on mail in ballots, yet they don't see the real problem lies with the clerks counting them and correctly counting them. The USPS WILL DELIVER it is the county clerks that will SCREW EVERYTHING UP.

Curse and Coffee (@CurseandCoffee) reportedUSPS Raids Its Own Pension Fund The postal service is burning retirement savings to buy time Congress won't give it. $118bn in losses since 2007. First-class mail — the agency's best earner — has dropped to volumes not seen since the 1960s. The borrowing limit sits at $15bn, a cap Congress set in 1992 and never raised. USPS maxed it out years ago. Postmaster General David Steiner, a former FedEx board member who took over last July, told Congress the agency could run dry as soon as October. His predecessor's turnaround plan promised to break even by 2024. USPS posted a $9.5bn loss instead. Amazon is also pulling back. The company is reducing the volume it ships through USPS — right as the agency auctions off last-mile delivery access to survive. Steiner's pitch to Congress: Hike the price of stamps from 78 cents to 95 cents or more. He also wants the borrowing limit raised and pension funds invested beyond Treasury bonds. An 8% surcharge on packages kicks in on April 26. Cutting delivery days is on the table… But federal law still requires six-day service to 169 million addresses. The GAO's verdict is blunt: The business model is "unsustainable." USPS has been on its High Risk list since 2009. And starting this year, it owes an estimated $750m in new retiree health care payments — costs Congress mandated but never funded. *** Pension fund as petty cash. Peak America. ***

J. Anon (@JAnon01836229) reported@reallyoptimized @aadilpickle I loved Amazon Fresh when I had it many years ago, when I was working full with health problems. USPS would often screw if up somehow, usually just delayed too long, then Amazon would give me lots of free food, including some slightly melted frozen food. They stopped then.

Salem News Channel (@WatchSalemNews) reported📬 USPS Price Hike Coming The U.S. Postal Service plans to raise first-class mail prices from $0.78 to $0.82 starting July 12, a 4.8% increase. USPS says the change will help offset rising transportation and fuel costs. The agency reported a $1.25 billion quarterly loss in February and warns it could run out of cash within a year. Earlier this week, regulators also approved a temporary 8% price increase for Priority Mail, effective April 26.

Igor Os (@igor_os777) reportedUSPS isn’t much better. Recently, a USPS carrier faked my signature for an item that required one. The parcel was not delivered, obviously. The “proof of delivery” was that the package was handed to an individual. I’m sure it was. I had Perplexity handle the complaining.
