@USPSHelp I signed up for usps plus for ten years and after about an hour of various errors, I finally managed to make the payment and my card was charged but my account shows that the purchase did not go through. How to fix this? Also, why is website so terrible?

@JoshPhillipsPhD A four-day USPS week isn't ideal, but it's probably one of the least intrusive cost-cutting measures possible. One thing I'd add is that the extra day off should come in the middle of the week (Tuesday or Wednesday) to prevent the longer delivery delays of a three-day weekend.

@MixSort @CBSNews So then only 12 years before the average working stiff. If the USPS has money problems they need to push it back to 67. They should do this with ALL government pensions.

@DOGE @RepTimBurchett please DOGE these fools! Start with the idiot contracts to do the last mile deliveries for UPS and FedEx. USPS literally gets pennies out of the shipping cost on pallets and pallets of boxes at every location everyday. It is the stupidest contracts ever!

  • roselleavenue

@NHbskraus @CardPurchaser Yeah I don't think anything gets scanned again after that 'Delivered' scan, which is just the sorting machine in actuality. USPS won't authorize a further handheld scan for basically what is letter rate mail. It's a real problem for card sellers/buyers.

@CurtisCarson50 @PeterSchiff Come back when this actually happens and actually does half of what the USPS is doing now on the last-mile issue right now.

The US Postal Service lost $9 billion last year and warns it could run out of money within 12 months. Meanwhile, new Labor Dept data shows most new jobs created went to women, largely in healthcare. Two very different stories shaping the US economy. #USPS #Economy #Jobs

@CheriWh35447182 @Justinskibs @Knesix USPS is a great example. They're just on the decline now because people aren't mailing anything anymore; at least not letters. But in its prime, the USPS was an excellent example of what a government run service like this could provide at cost.

@FashionNovaHelp @FashionNova this is unacceptable. Several of my orders show as delivered by USPS to a third-party agent, but the packages are missing and the courier cannot locate them. I need answers, proof of delivery, or a refund. This is not okay.

$FDX and UPS sitting pretty as USPS burns through cash reserves — when the government postal service needs another bailout, where do you think that package volume migrates? Private logistics players love public sector incompetence 📦

@USPS "Our system shows We were unable to attempt delivery of your item on April 12, 2026 at 2:41 pm in _______________ due to interference by an animal. Your item will go out for delivery on the next delivery day as conditions permit." I don't have pets, So I know this is a lie.

@HootieBoy That definitely helps. I didn't notice these issues as much when it was UPS. Matter of fact it was on a very rare occasion it didn't show up on time with UPS. Since since USPS started doing deliveries it's been more frequent. When I order stuff through FedEx, it is never late, and sometimes it's a day early.

Looking at USPS they still have same problems of delivery on time and to right address. Calling local USPS when we get neighbors mail we have been told “be a good neighbor and take it to your neighbor”. I’m not the one paid to deliver. Thankfully online banking allows direct pay.

The U.S. Postal Service could run out of cash by October 2026. USPS lost $9.5B in 2025 and has now suspended pension contributions to stay afloat. The agency is calling on Congress to raise its debt limit and allow higher postage prices. A crisis decades in the making.

  • RepRickCrawford
    Rep. Rick Crawford (@RepRickCrawford) reported

🚨Important Tax Season Information 🚨 From now until Wednesday, April 15th, rather than mailing tax returns from your house or by the USPS blue mailbox outside of post offices, you should take your mail into the post office and ask an employee to “hand-cancel” your stamps. This will ensure that your mail is postmarked the same day you bring it in and avoid the IRS charging you for your tax-return being late. If you wish to take even more precaution, paying the additional $5.30 to send your tax-return by certified mail will provide you with a tracking number and allow you to require the IRS to provide a signature at the time of delivery, providing proof of delivery if somehow your taxes get lost by the IRS.

@girlcloudnine @brsgr4049 @HandNF Students pay fees to attend public universities. People pay fees to send mail through USPS. It is totally reasonable for a public service to be funded by a mix of taxes and usage fees.

@BellasBodega If you're doing business through USPS it's your job to make sure the package is properly insured for the right dollar amount because all USPS does is destroy packages. The customer needs to take it up with USPS. It's not your problem after you ship it off.

@angelodotsui Looks like a possible roller issue, if they used USPS. Most mail goes through the machine, and top loaders have a tendancy to get stuck in the rollers.

Any plan that is addressing the structural problems will not make union workers happy, nor many smaller towns. But the USPS is like Sears, Montgomery Ward, K-Mart, Northrup, McDonald Douglas. Times change and the USPS has not had the structural changes needed to make the organization sustainable.

@SineKellan @WallStreetApes Shame for them? Leadership and employees are reason USPS became obsolete. Never accepted technology changes. Did you see the ugly new delivery vans? Could have purchased new vans from any domestic auto maker but they decided to design their own boondoggle! No shame!
