DinosaurHunter94: 9/11 the Musical (@Sifantastic666) reported from Manhattan, New YorkI’m just glad that I purchased all my plants and seeds for 2021 before usps implemented its new standard… 2-day delivery is fine for live plants in gallon pots. 3-5 days would be a nightmare.

Dan Sinensky (@DanSinensky) reported from Manhattan, New YorkDivert funds from police (the federal government gives funds/personnel to local police forces) and military to the USPS as well as restorative justice. Privatization of the postal service will make mailing, a fundamental need in society, prohibitively expensive for many.

Lauren (@MiniSnoops35) reported from Manhattan, New York@mercari_app how do you dispute bogus @USPS shipping charges? My item weighed less than a pound and #usps charged me for 6 lbs! It’s just a pattern of horrible service that began well before the pandemic.

robertachiarella.com (@rchiarellajewel) reported from Manhattan, New York@RedTRaccoon We must do this-we must raise our voices. We must protects our right to vote HOWEVER we need to. The USPS is part of our lives and history-if it’s broken FIX IT. If the elections have security issues FIX IT and make it secure. We will not accept your lame excuses and lies
-
Deb Pression (@AidanWalshe) reported from Manhattan, New YorkIf we operate under the assumption that the USPS is a business and functions like one, then the planned reduction in service (despite it being misguided) makes sense. If LA has 500 sorting centers but Bumfreak, IA only has 5, you'd reduce the number of centers in LA.

MotownTitan (@MotownTitan) reported@NHbskraus @CardPurchaser How long ago was it "delivered"? I've had items with the ESU number arrive via USPS sometime a week+ after being "delivered". Sometimes I think it's more the norm than a problem

Ollie (@olzhu) reported@girlcloudnine @brsgr4049 @HandNF Students pay fees to attend public universities. People pay fees to send mail through USPS. It is totally reasonable for a public service to be funded by a mix of taxes and usage fees.

Sir Goads Ghastly (@jjgoad) reported@skillz17q Your individual problems are not indicative of a systemic problem. I’m 100% certain more your shipments came through USPS than you realize. Your complaint likely has more to do with issues upstream over any shipping agent and likely is driven by Amazons own fulfillment network

Noyb (@Noyb2021) reported@mulaapronto @christo70455432 @CBSNews Wild that you think the system still works... google northern Alabama mail delivery issues. There are a plethora of articles and finger pointing but in the end? USPS can't deliver nor can they pay their bills. It's over.

We Are Samira Mohan We Carry The Flame (@madwhee1er) reportedez pass emailing me at 8:30pm about immediate action needing to be taken because usps lost my tag and I need to pay the lost fee but I have to call customer service to do so because my account is closed but customer service offices are closed... so why email me right now???? 🤦🤦

B. K. Lemons (@BKLemons) reported@General_Raptor @USACarry Actually, what I bought, can't remember the name, had USPS insurance on it, or it least that's what I remember. But I could be mistaken. USPS wouldn't pay mine because, they said, nothing was lost, even though the weight was significantly less upon delivery that it was at mailing. (The USPS carrier who delivered it watched the coin shop owner weigh it upon delivery.)
-
justadudeinthemountains (@justadudeinthe1) reported@amazon USPS has had my package 5 miles from its delivery point since last Wednesday (127 hours now). I could have literally crawled there and back faster. And no, I will not contact USPS - I pay you an unholy $ membership and paid for the product two weeks ago - so it is you duty to get my stuff to me. 😡

Christine (@1776Christine) reported@WallStreetApes Grok: retirees I understand your concern—retirees relying on their USPS pensions (annuities) to cover mortgages and daily expenses shouldn’t have to worry about disruptions, especially if payments feel delayed or incomplete right now. Let’s clarify based on the latest official details from the April 9, 2026 announcement and related reporting. What USPS Actually Suspended USPS is temporarily pausing only its own employer contributions to the defined-benefit portion of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) annuity—the traditional pension side. This started April 10, 2026, and is expected to free up about $2.5 billion in cash this fiscal year to help avoid running out of liquidity (they’ve warned of potential cash exhaustion by early 2027 without reforms).11 This does not include: •Current retirees’ annuity payments: These continue to be paid by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), not directly from USPS cash flow. USPS, unions (like NALC), and officials have repeatedly stated there is no immediate impact on checks going out to existing retirees. •Employees’ own contributions (deducted from paychecks)—those still go to OPM. •The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)—the 401(k)-style account, including employer matching and automatic contributions. •Social Security employer portions. In short, the pause is on USPS adding its share to the overall FERS funding pot for future obligations, not on writing checks to people already retired. This is similar to a step they took in 2011 during a prior crunch. Employee service credit toward future annuities also continues. Why Some Retirees Might Be Experiencing Delays If you’re hearing from (or are) retired postal workers whose payments seem “missing” or late, that could stem from separate processing issues at OPM or USPS, not this specific pension contribution pause: •OPM handles the actual disbursement of FERS annuities for federal retirees, including USPS. Backlogs, paperwork errors, or system updates can sometimes cause delays in starting or adjusting payments—independent of USPS’s funding actions. •One recent report mentioned dozens of USPS retirees waiting months for benefits to start, with little explanation. This predates or runs parallel to the contribution pause and points more to administrative hurdles than a direct cut due to the cash conservation plan. •Broader USPS financial strain (declining mail volume, high costs, legacy obligations) can indirectly create bottlenecks, but officials emphasize current retiree payments are protected short-term. If a retiree’s check is genuinely not arriving as expected, the best immediate steps are: •Contact OPM directly (their retirement information center or phone line for annuitants). •Reach out to the retiree’s former USPS HR or union representative. •Check for any required forms or address updates that might be holding things up. Longer-Term Picture This move highlights USPS’s ongoing structural problems. Without congressional changes (on pricing flexibility, pre-funding rules, etc.), more pressure could build. However, the pension system itself is backed by the federal government, and FERS annuities for current retirees aren’t being clawed back or halted by this action. If this is affecting someone specific you know (e.g., exact nature of the “missing” payments—first check never started, reduced amount, or total stoppage?), more details could help narrow it down. In the meantime, the official line from USPS CFO and unions is clear: current retirees should not see immediate changes to their annuity income from this pause.

#ArrestThemAll (it/vermin/radical left scum) (@ingenius_one) reported@BlisterPearl the problem with some of this is that the USPS CAN NOT be sold. the USPS is mandated by the US Constitution. it is a MANDITORY part of the US Government.
