@michaelmelham @USPS Voting by mail is ridiculous. To many problems exist and you know what I mean. Social distancing voting wouldn’t be a problem as long as you show ID.

FYI @USPS @USPSHelp Are the worst! I have camera on my apartment and they claim to deliver packages but never actually try, than they mark my delivery as “insecure area, notice left”. And they don’t even leave a notice. **** THEM. They won’t even answer my DMs anymore, too.

  • PamAbate

@usps. Very nice of you to take my money for stamps I ordered, never send them and provide ZERO customer service. I spent over $90 for stamps that have not been sent and I can’t get any answers! Shame on #USPS

2- I wouldn’t be against inmail voting if a signature was required that you received it& that it got delivered & registered in a system to avoid duplicates but unfortunately, the USPS will say your package is out for delivery for 3 days then magically get lost & sent back out for

@USPS I BETTER GET MY PACKAGE TODAY TODAY . It BEEN OUT FOR DELIVERY SINCE 7:15 AM AND THE POST OFFICE IS LITERALLY 10steps AWAY #EASTORANGE #NJ

  • RonColeman
Ron Coleman (@RonColeman) reported from Clifton, New Jersey

@aranom12 @SpiffDSpaceman @USPS @USPSHelp Meh. It's a running joke that @USPS in Clifton doesn't even try to deliver packages. They just leave them for pickup and claim they "unsuccessfully attempted delivery." This has happened more times than I can count. #noaccountability

  • kheidiho

@USPS @USPSHelp what can I do to get my mail carrier to stop smoking in the delivery truck. Every piece of mail and package I get reeks. Health issue as well due to asthma

  • paulenoonan

@anniemal Used to work for the @usps over the summers in college. Paid $15.75 an hour and I had the whole thing down pat in a week. Some really amazing humans make up this service and they deserve better than soul-crushing volume on a daily basis

  • sew_lou
Grace 🌷 (@sew_lou) reported from Montclair, New Jersey

You know what’s a huge hot mess right now? @USPS. Not only are they losing packages and not delivering, they even have the audacity to have poor customer service.

  • JohnWebbMD
John Webb (@JohnWebbMD) reported from West Orange, New Jersey

@FedExHelp wow, I thought customer service today couldn’t get worse, until I tried to contact your’s. Major fail! It is sad when the USPS gives better service and answers.

  • FatBlood
Fatblood (@FatBlood) reported from Orange, New Jersey

@bending_bars @UPS @FedEx @USPS Nah this is why retailers are starting to use digital startups that are trying harder, or building there own delivery services. They are all only as strong as there weakest link.

@WallStreetApes Grok: retirees I understand your concern—retirees relying on their USPS pensions (annuities) to cover mortgages and daily expenses shouldn’t have to worry about disruptions, especially if payments feel delayed or incomplete right now. Let’s clarify based on the latest official details from the April 9, 2026 announcement and related reporting. What USPS Actually Suspended USPS is temporarily pausing only its own employer contributions to the defined-benefit portion of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) annuity—the traditional pension side. This started April 10, 2026, and is expected to free up about $2.5 billion in cash this fiscal year to help avoid running out of liquidity (they’ve warned of potential cash exhaustion by early 2027 without reforms).11 This does not include: •Current retirees’ annuity payments: These continue to be paid by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), not directly from USPS cash flow. USPS, unions (like NALC), and officials have repeatedly stated there is no immediate impact on checks going out to existing retirees. •Employees’ own contributions (deducted from paychecks)—those still go to OPM. •The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)—the 401(k)-style account, including employer matching and automatic contributions. •Social Security employer portions. In short, the pause is on USPS adding its share to the overall FERS funding pot for future obligations, not on writing checks to people already retired. This is similar to a step they took in 2011 during a prior crunch. Employee service credit toward future annuities also continues. Why Some Retirees Might Be Experiencing Delays If you’re hearing from (or are) retired postal workers whose payments seem “missing” or late, that could stem from separate processing issues at OPM or USPS, not this specific pension contribution pause: •OPM handles the actual disbursement of FERS annuities for federal retirees, including USPS. Backlogs, paperwork errors, or system updates can sometimes cause delays in starting or adjusting payments—independent of USPS’s funding actions. •One recent report mentioned dozens of USPS retirees waiting months for benefits to start, with little explanation. This predates or runs parallel to the contribution pause and points more to administrative hurdles than a direct cut due to the cash conservation plan. •Broader USPS financial strain (declining mail volume, high costs, legacy obligations) can indirectly create bottlenecks, but officials emphasize current retiree payments are protected short-term. If a retiree’s check is genuinely not arriving as expected, the best immediate steps are: •Contact OPM directly (their retirement information center or phone line for annuitants). •Reach out to the retiree’s former USPS HR or union representative. •Check for any required forms or address updates that might be holding things up. Longer-Term Picture This move highlights USPS’s ongoing structural problems. Without congressional changes (on pricing flexibility, pre-funding rules, etc.), more pressure could build. However, the pension system itself is backed by the federal government, and FERS annuities for current retirees aren’t being clawed back or halted by this action. If this is affecting someone specific you know (e.g., exact nature of the “missing” payments—first check never started, reduced amount, or total stoppage?), more details could help narrow it down. In the meantime, the official line from USPS CFO and unions is clear: current retirees should not see immediate changes to their annuity income from this pause.

@angelodotsui Looks like a possible roller issue, if they used USPS. Most mail goes through the machine, and top loaders have a tendancy to get stuck in the rollers.

@audrawrongspeak When you are going to place an online order, use the customer chat to ask them how they ship their products. If the answer is FedEx request an alternate. If they insist on FedEx, don’t order. I’ve been doing this for years because of issues. UPS, USPS or bust.

2/ Universal service ends. USPS is legally required to deliver everywhere at the same rate. Alaska to Manhattan, same stamp price. Private carriers charge $4.50-$5.40 "residential surcharges" and $3-$6 "rural surcharges" on top of base rates.

Congress should forfeit the usps & all its assets to Amazon asap. It was designed to be a break even service to Americans but has shown to be nothing but a failed experiment that has turned into a money pit for your tax dollars. Privatize the us postal service now.
