Scott Greenberg (@ExileOnEStreet) reported from Charlotte, North Carolina@USPS been tracking a package via text that I’ve been looking forward to getting. Supposed to be delivered today. Got an “attempted delivery” text saying they needed a signature. Would’ve been nice to know this in advance so I could’ve made arrangements. Very upset.

keylin lopez🔑🦁 (@keylinlopez_) reported from Charlotte, North Carolina@nick_stat Every single day. FEDEX and UPS often use USPS when they have deliveries to remote locations, which they deem unprofitable to make. It’s more important to help out one of the most important institutions financially than big oil companies and Boeing. But that’s just my opinion.

James Edgar (@jamesedgar70) reported from Charlotte, North CarolinaDang, @Keurig did it too. Changed from UPS to USPS without saying so. USPS lists my pkg as "delivery date unknown." They still don't deliver to my complex, so on "unknown date," I'll still have to travel to get my order. I wrote @Keurig to complain. My email was ignored.

👑 Princess Charming (@CharmingShauni) reported from Charlotte, North CarolinaSo I’m checking my mail to see that we received someone’s package by mistake so I drove to their place to drop it off. Never had problem until recently. Most disconcerting is USPS lack of concern. No more. I'm done with Post Office. Sad state of affairs. Country deserves better.

It’s a mess but basically we need to save the USPS
-
Real Pretty Lex (@addictedtolex) reported from Charlotte, North CarolinaI wish there was a way to block certain carriers from delivering to you. Because the only people who deliver consistently with no problem is fedex. If it’s not coming by fedex or usps I genuinely don’t want to even order it. Whatever it is.
-
Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus Von Hohenheim (@d00mfr0gg) reported from Charlotte, North Carolina@SabreHess Did they tell you the parcel service that was handling the record? If not, you may have to wait and plug the tracking number into the USPS site occasionally. Most services will pop up once they clear customs, unless it’s DHL or UPS
-
Hunter (@chipleyford) reported from Charlotte, North Carolina@AltaMuzik My dad worked at ups for 30 years. FedEx and UPS work with USPS every year and give them less profitable routes and delivery’s to help keep them afloat, but we do lose tons of money on them annually

Christine (@1776Christine) reported@WallStreetApes Grok: retirees I understand your concern—retirees relying on their USPS pensions (annuities) to cover mortgages and daily expenses shouldn’t have to worry about disruptions, especially if payments feel delayed or incomplete right now. Let’s clarify based on the latest official details from the April 9, 2026 announcement and related reporting. What USPS Actually Suspended USPS is temporarily pausing only its own employer contributions to the defined-benefit portion of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) annuity—the traditional pension side. This started April 10, 2026, and is expected to free up about $2.5 billion in cash this fiscal year to help avoid running out of liquidity (they’ve warned of potential cash exhaustion by early 2027 without reforms).11 This does not include: •Current retirees’ annuity payments: These continue to be paid by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), not directly from USPS cash flow. USPS, unions (like NALC), and officials have repeatedly stated there is no immediate impact on checks going out to existing retirees. •Employees’ own contributions (deducted from paychecks)—those still go to OPM. •The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)—the 401(k)-style account, including employer matching and automatic contributions. •Social Security employer portions. In short, the pause is on USPS adding its share to the overall FERS funding pot for future obligations, not on writing checks to people already retired. This is similar to a step they took in 2011 during a prior crunch. Employee service credit toward future annuities also continues. Why Some Retirees Might Be Experiencing Delays If you’re hearing from (or are) retired postal workers whose payments seem “missing” or late, that could stem from separate processing issues at OPM or USPS, not this specific pension contribution pause: •OPM handles the actual disbursement of FERS annuities for federal retirees, including USPS. Backlogs, paperwork errors, or system updates can sometimes cause delays in starting or adjusting payments—independent of USPS’s funding actions. •One recent report mentioned dozens of USPS retirees waiting months for benefits to start, with little explanation. This predates or runs parallel to the contribution pause and points more to administrative hurdles than a direct cut due to the cash conservation plan. •Broader USPS financial strain (declining mail volume, high costs, legacy obligations) can indirectly create bottlenecks, but officials emphasize current retiree payments are protected short-term. If a retiree’s check is genuinely not arriving as expected, the best immediate steps are: •Contact OPM directly (their retirement information center or phone line for annuitants). •Reach out to the retiree’s former USPS HR or union representative. •Check for any required forms or address updates that might be holding things up. Longer-Term Picture This move highlights USPS’s ongoing structural problems. Without congressional changes (on pricing flexibility, pre-funding rules, etc.), more pressure could build. However, the pension system itself is backed by the federal government, and FERS annuities for current retirees aren’t being clawed back or halted by this action. If this is affecting someone specific you know (e.g., exact nature of the “missing” payments—first check never started, reduced amount, or total stoppage?), more details could help narrow it down. In the meantime, the official line from USPS CFO and unions is clear: current retirees should not see immediate changes to their annuity income from this pause.

BTWDTA🏴☠️⚡️⚡️ (@eaauaia) reported@audrawrongspeak When you are going to place an online order, use the customer chat to ask them how they ship their products. If the answer is FedEx request an alternate. If they insist on FedEx, don’t order. I’ve been doing this for years because of issues. UPS, USPS or bust.

Steve (@StvnAd) reported@CheriWh35447182 @Justinskibs @Knesix USPS is a great example. They're just on the decline now because people aren't mailing anything anymore; at least not letters. But in its prime, the USPS was an excellent example of what a government run service like this could provide at cost.

William F. Haider (@haiderwf) reported@DeRushaJ @DanHayesMLB The problem with raising postage costs is there’s no upgrade. More cost equals same incompetent service. Cost should equal performance. Do better USPS.

Beverly A. Pekala (@PekalaLaw) reported@name98844 @vjeannek People need to grab ahold of the concept of progress. It's stunning that people who fancy themselves progressive and urbanists shout against delivery robots and Waymo and ending USPS. etc etc. Horse and buggy days are gone. The only constant is change.
-
A-Aron Richalds (@atRichalds) reported@WPXI The increase should be far larger than four cents per stamp. US tax taxpayers subsidize the USPS to the tune of billions of dollars a year. This means that we are also subsidizing every piece of junk mail sent via USPS. Stop subsidizing USPS, raise the stamp price to appropriate levels to stay solvent, problem solved.

il Donaldo Trumpo (@ITrumpoo) reportedMajor delivery companies including Amazon, USPS, FedEx, and UPS are implementing new fuel surcharges and rate increases. These changes are driven by rising gas prices, partly attributed to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The increased costs are expected to impact local comm.
