Richard C Crain (@RichardCrainCPA) reportedTip Deduction for Partners the K-1 Problem @IRSnews "Taxpayers may be able to claim a deduction for qualified tips paid to them in 2025 that are included on Form W-2, Form 1099-NEC, Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099-K, or reported directly by them on Form 4137." This leaves K-1 partners in a tight spot unless they take an aggressive stance and claim on Form 4137, which is generally for employees to report and pay tax on tips not reported to their employer. (I have yet to see any rule that expressly forbids a partner from filing this form for their tips.) Any thoughts? Become an S-Corp for 2026?
