  @IRSnews The irs will only help you if you owe them, but not if they owe you. 8 calls over an hour each and all they do is transfer, put you in hold, transfer, put you on hold, and hang up on you. They see my credit but each person says oh another department releases it. Thieves!!!

  @IRStaxpros There are no words to describe the anger I have at the fact that every client who ordered a refund in a check, is a client who does not possess technical skills need to update Direct Deposit. And why are you contacting banks without the clients knowledge. You've freaked out damn near every client who WANTS a check and set back Accountants, during the busiest times of year, back days with these folks calling and coming in demanding we help them set up their accounts. ******* Morons. Try saying, "We're phasing out checks, if you want Direct Deposit, go here. If not, this is the last year of checks." Not we've try to do everything you didn't ask and tried to invade your privacy, and if you don't update you dont get your refund.

  The @IRSnews website says my tax refund was sent April 6th. IRS customer service says I sent the "wrong bank information", then changed their story that I was sent a paper check due the 14th, even though I did not sign or send in the form. $1,335 was expected on @Chime.

  @IRSnews Are you aware of the ongoing issues with Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits? A 4-digit QMIN is required this year re: windows, doors, skylights. If the manufacturer code includes a 1, I, O or 0 the filing is rejected. IRS shows this as a "known issue"

  @IRSnews Your VITA program filed my 2024 taxes incorrectly, costing me my refund plus $230 I paid to the IRS which I didn’t owe. My accountant found it this year. How can I get this fixed/amended through the program? I’m not paying an accountant to fix your mistake.

  @TonyM1611066 @IRSnews For real. How ******* annoying right? And you know it’s some scripted autopost **** because they post at 9pm, 11pm, midnight and on Sundays. They don’t even answer the ******* phone. And when you do manage to get ahold of someone they are typically the most abhorrent, belligerent, narcissistic person that simply doesn’t give two ***** other than “pay us more money you don’t have yet”.   @GDHiguain @IRSnews The IRS issues a demand notice (like CP80) for repayment of erroneous refunds, plus interest from the refund date. If unpaid, they offset any future refunds, levy bank accounts/wages, or file liens. Direct deposits to accounts closed after withdrawal can't be easily reversed by the bank, so recovery shifts to the taxpayer's record address, SSN traces, or third-party collections. Success varies—many repay voluntarily, but transient filers make it tougher. They flag patterns for audits.
