Just incredible that @PGE4Me would cut off power during our Shelter In Place in Danville. Our families are already dealing with a high amount of stress doing virtual schooling and work at home and no power for eight hours is extremely upsetting.

  • odotelik
Brett Higham (@odotelik) reported from Moraga, California

  • loansbrad
Brad Blackwell (@loansbrad) reported from Danville, California

A tone-deaf @PGE4Me just cut off power for the day to our home and 300 others for a planned outage to do maintenance. This during shelter-in-place cutting off internet to kids who are supposed to be attending virtual classes, warming full freezers and angering local residents.

@EliBurton_ @integra_sv @PGE4Me Here’s some irony. I live near the Caldecott tunnel that puts west bound cars into Oakland. If power is out for an extended period of time (up to 5 day) they will shut down the tunnel. Because of ventilation safety. I drive a Tesla, not my problem. Let me go thru. @boringcompany

Here in the California suburbs things look bad. The statewide COVID shutdown means we need to stay home. The .@PGE4Me shutdown means it’s cold inside, the food in the fridge is rotting, and the WiFi is out. I mean, wtf is this life?

  • TeslaOwnersEBay
Tesla Owners East Bay (@TeslaOwnersEBay) reported from Orinda, California

@ValueAnalyst1 @Tesla Unconfirmed but, out here in CA, these Power outages keep occurring because our local state utility @PGE4Me can’t maintain a proper functioning grid from starting wild fires. Everyone’s talking @tesla powerwalls. Out next power outage is set for this Wednesday. 🤬🤬🤬

  • jenks

  • AlvinShen
🌮Tacos+Teslas🏎🔋⚡️[AL] (@AlvinShen) reported from Orinda, California

@indiealexh @PGE4Me Gross Mismanagement, symptoms of a monopoly too big to run itself well. Overcompensated leadership at the top and wild inefficiencies throughout their ranks. All the literal “Fear Uncertainty and doubt” they have created this year has been awful for nor cal residents.

@CAgovernor You cannot be serious. I know @PGE4Me pays you and your wife ungodly sums of money but you've done both but make our energy bills skyrocket and then look for new ways to tax us on any small efficiency gains. You push us to EVs and solar then tax the hell out of us for it.

@PGE4Me Power out in Burlingame area Bill has doubled within a year but when you call you can’t get anybody to find out about a power outage. They just hang up on you or send you into some kind of doom loop do better PG&E.

  • cathshiang
    Catherine Shiang (@cathshiang) reported

The demurrer was denied by the Superior Court judge showing the claims against LADWP has legal basis. What are these claims? Who pays if plaintiffs win? These claims go to negligence in equipment maintenance (something @PGE4Me is at fault for for the city wide Christmas city wide blackout) of water management system From reservoir, water pressure to prioritizing cost cutting over maintenance. Failure to maintain and properly manage their electrical infrastructure, sub transmission lines causing the fire. Not turning off the power. And concealing this fact. And inverse condemnation. Meaning no need to prove fault, only a showing LADWP equipment caused the fire. 👉Of course any damages by LADWP, owned the city of LA, will be borne by their insurance company, and then, sadly from rate hikes to customers, and city taxpayers. So, ironically, customers and taxpayers end up paying for this lawsuit. There should be, instead, personal liability to those decision makers. Up in San Francisco, the current CEO of PGE Sameer Singh should be personally liabile for the Christmas 2025 Blackout. After all his entire career at PG&E was in equipment maintenance and risk prior to his ascension to CEO. He had personal knowledge of the equipment, the sub stations. In Washington DC, similarly the CEO of the 240 million tons of raw sewage spill, caused by the Potomac Interceptor collapse was a known maintenance issue. The CEO of @dcwater David Gadis knew of this interceptor issue. He said flippantly "The scale is one through five. Five being an emergency. A three is fair. So a 3.5, it was fair," he said. "It happened to break on us before we were able to get to it." Either his crew needs a new measuring scale or they measured wrong. The bottom line is these CEOs have direct knowledge and should be personally on the hook whether civil damages and/or criminal negligence.
