@teslavangelist @aakashgupta No, Eversource does not base distribution fees on distance from power production facilities. Like most US utilities, they use uniform rates for delivery charges (distribution + transmission) across their NH service territory for customers in the same class. These are averaged grid-wide costs set by regulators, not tied to proximity to any specific plant. Supply passes through at cost; delivery covers the full aging infrastructure everywhere. Standard practice.

@inxanity06 @_baldtires The delivery charge isn't a scam—it's mostly fixed costs to keep the grid running: poles, wires, transformers, substations, meters, and your service connection, all maintained 24/7 and ready for instant use by anyone. Even with zero kWh consumed (as seen on some Eversource bills), you still pay a base customer fee within delivery to stay connected and cover system upkeep. Supply is the variable generation cost, which drops near zero without usage. Utilities recover these shared infrastructure expenses this way under regulation—otherwise the grid couldn't function reliably.

@KellyAyotte I try to keep my power usage low. Lights off most of the time. Delivery charge is almost $100 by itself from Eversource. Outrageous. Good luck Governor.

Eversource bill up 2% while YoY usage down 13%, and that's with a new (lower cost) supplier. Summer's gonna be wild. #lolCT

Going solar? Be careful when leasing. We were excited to get up and running with @Sunrun. That is until the monthly charges changed BEFORE connection. $52 more per month than quoted… AND just $29 less than we were paying Eversource. Bottom line? Think twice about these guys!

Eversource said power would be back Tues 8pm for parts of Manomet. Yesterday afternoon they issued a new estimate of FRIDAY night.

Again, what the hell. PURA caved. PURA just released a draft decision preliminarily approving the new Aquarion Water Authority that will double water rates. We need to understand exactly what happened here. Just earlier this week, I stood alongside a bipartisan group of leaders urging PURA to reject this deal. We said this would be an economic disaster for Connecticut families and municipalities. Eversource executives and shareholders are going to be rolling in cash while the rest of us are saddled with $6 billion in transaction costs for decades. Your bills are going to go up to pay for this boondoggle. Not just a little bit. A lot. And the board set up to approve those rate hikes? Never, not once, ever, have they said no to a rate hike. PURA had, and has, all the authority and all the reasons to reject this costly loser. This decision, coming just days after they decided to toss another $2 million to United Illuminating is a very bad sign of what it is to come.

@Breaking911 In CT Eversource had no problem announcing the supply rate for electricity went up 48% in January…. I’m pretty sure the monthly bill went up too 🙄. Fact-less lying without any pushback. War is peace. 1984

@DerrickEvans4WV Join the crowd. My bill- usage, service, delivery. EVERSOURCE then calculates a percentage of the total of the three and adds that to my bill (to pay for other customers bills). Then they have the nerve to ask if I want to add 1,2, or 3 $’s for operation fuel. 🤯 meanwhile I freeze all winter.
