I guess I don’t really need working power when I’m trying to sleep, but that’s no reason to take it away, Entergy.

  • Three_Ninjas
I play steel guitar and I need everyone to know. (@Three_Ninjas) reported from Timberlane, Louisiana

But this raises an important question. Why? Neither Cox nor Entergy have to worry about competition. Most people are stuck with them both. What are Entergy's incentives for building out something so helpful and why doesn't Cox have those incentives?

If @Entergy cuts your service and you pay the bill the same day, how long til it comes back on?

📰 Entergy Closes Indian Point Nuclear Plant Amid Safety and Economic Concerns Entergy has closed the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, facing a $2 billion cost for a required cooling tower. The closure means Entergy cannot reopen without unanimous consent from local government entities. This decision raises safety concerns for the surrounding 20 million residents, especially given the site's location on a fault line. Building a small modular reactor would take five years and $6 billion, complicating current energy costs. Meanwhile, New York State's film and theater tax credits are criticized for poor returns on investment. Mayor Sean Ryan plans a 25% property tax increase to address a significant budget deficit caused by fiscal mismanagement. --- #Fusion #NuclearPower

Last week the T-P reported that Entergy is planning seven new gas plants just to service the new data centers in Louisiana. Are we expected to believe they won't tack that onto our bills also?

  • john_helms92794
    John Helms (@john_helms92794) reported

@SawyerMerritt The problem you run into power share is. Whether or not your electric company will allow it. I have Entergy and I don’t imagine they would allow me to hook into their system. It would be nice if they would.

@MisisipiTopia @floridanow1 That means one existing, two to be built within fairly close proximity, plus the one in Southhaven. I know that Elon is trying to get approval to build out his own power supply for Southhaven. Entergy and TVA likely power the other three.

@Entergy My frustration is at Suburban not you. I understand you are working crews round the clock. Although I see other disaster areas in the country seem to get more support than what our state got on this. Safe rooms won’t keep my farm warm fed and watered. I had prepared for a week without power. I should have gotten a 1000 gallon tank and maybe I could make it a month or longer. I don’t think we should have to plan for more than a week in 2026 but apparently we do.
