  @Stafki_GTN They're gonna find ways to bypass it. They always do. It's just sort of inevitable at this point so I don't understand why people will keep flaming roblox for at least trying to fix the problem just because they have some deep unbridled hatred for their moderation staff.

  Roblox just split itself into three platforms based on age. Under 9. Ages 9-15. Ages 16+. Different games. Different chat rules. Different interfaces. Different colors. A gaming company just solved a problem that Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Snapchat have been "working on" for a decade. Roblox Kids (under 9): all communication disabled by default. Parents can enable limited chat — restricted to trusted friends under 13. No party chat. No voice. No strangers. Only games rated Minimal or Mild. Distinctive blue background so parents can see at a glance which version their kid is using. Roblox Select (9-15): moderate content unlocked. Chat available but off by default for under-12. Parental consent required to enable it. 13-15 get text and voice with users aged 9-17. Social hangouts and free-form drawing games blocked entirely unless a parent individually approves them. Roblox 16+: full platform. Parents still see friends, screen time, and spending until 18. Everything except Restricted content. Automatic transitions as kids age. No workaround. No lying about your birthday and getting full access. Age verification built into the architecture, not bolted on as an afterthought. This is what platform design for children actually looks like when a company decides to do it instead of testifying about it. Instagram's approach to child safety: an optional "teen account" setting that any 13-year-old can bypass by lying about their age. TikTok: a "restricted mode" parents don't know exists. YouTube: a "Kids" app so stripped of features that children immediately switch to the main app on a sibling's device. Snapchat: parental controls that arrived years after the damage. X: age verification that consists of checking a box. Roblox has 70+ million daily active users. Over half are under 16. It's the largest platform in the world where children are the primary audience, not an afterthought. And instead of pretending one product can serve a 7-year-old and a 17-year-old equally, it built three products. The blue background on Roblox Kids is the detail that reveals genuine design thinking. A parent walking past a screen can instantly tell which tier their child is using without opening settings or checking accounts. Visual identity as a safety mechanism. Simple. Obvious in retrospect. Took the industry 20 years to implement. No social hangouts for under-15s. No free-form drawing (which is where predatory messaging hides in visual form). No stranger communication for under-9s. Each restriction maps to a specific documented risk, not a blanket content filter that blocks everything and teaches nothing. Every platform says "we take child safety seriously." Roblox just shipped what that sentence actually looks like as a product. Three tiers. Granular controls. Visual indicators. Automatic aging. Parental visibility that persists until 18. The standard for child safety on the internet just moved. Not by regulation. Not by congressional hearing. By a gaming company that decided to build what the law hasn't required yet. Everyone else is still testifying. Roblox shipped.

  I think Roblox players need to realize that there are two options: 1. Child Safety + Heavy Platform Restrictions 2. No Platform Restrictions The internet has changed; 2 is not working anymore, and we have SEEN that. Yes, the changes suck, but I'd pick child safety every time.

  very soon it will be 1 year since i started trying to make friends online. dozens of people added, hundreds of hours texting and i still dont have one id feel good asking to play roblox with me or do anything else+ i am obviously the problem but idk what to do about it.. :'((

  @Gizmo_The_Clown @Zevered18 @Roblox_RTC Yeah, catching pedos will not fix anything, it just has a non guaranteed chance of getting a few bad people convicted. Schelp got a couple pedos arrested and now roblox is worse and the **** situation isnt fixed.

  @SirDapper @BSlickComposer The issue is that the "safeguards" roblox add are literally just putting a bandage over a massive ******* bleeding wound on an arm for example. We are not asking for just human moderation, but a mix of that and IMPROVED ai moderation. And, y'know, more than the bare minimum. Syfm

  So, setting aside the issues that come as a developer with this change of having to buy Roblox plus etc, this is, by far, not making it easier for predators. They have an entire team of people who's job it is to track what predators are doing and attempt to find the opposite
