If it impacts your account that much, you shouldn’t be risking money on a market down 5% YTD. That’s like a 1K account you could withdraw for free.

It’s a good app. The buy button removal was awful and unjustified. But people still being just as upset about it over 5 years later is a bit suspicious. Just move on.

William Brady (@DrWilliamBrady) reportedJust got off the phone with @RobinhoodApp I received the transfer bonus to open the account. Then planned to take a margin loan against my shares to maintain the account floor to avoid bonus clawback. Robinhood would get 4-5% interest on a paying a 2% bonus. Turns out Robinhood is treating interest bearing loans the same as withdrawals for calculating the bonus floor. The rep agreed with me that they shouldn’t, but due to software logic they do. He said they might fix this but probably not soon. I suggested several work arounds for the time being and we escalated to a manager for tomorrow. I’m shocked this brokerage wants to but can’t separate loans from withdrawals!!! I’m really hoping we get this straightened out. Will keep everyone posted.
